There are a few things things in life that are branded the 'most stressful' life events that we as humans go through. To name a couple: Having a baby, getting married, moving house and perhaps now I would also like to add, starting a business.
So, you can probably imagine the stress of a young 25 year old creative when I have ticked off three of those in six months with the eye of the fourth in the not so distant future.
We live in a world where everyone wants to make money quick, and there is a constant pressure to find what you love, and monetize that ASAP. I am fortunate that my wife has done this with her own Beauty Business, which has probably sowed the seed for me to go on and launch Ricreate.
As a young family it was never going to be easy, with a 6 month old baby, and my wife getting back into work with her own business, I probably could have chosen a better time to embark on this endeavor. However, if I am completely honest, I never think there is a perfect time for anything in life. Only that of what we see in hindsight further down the line when something has been successful. So, in the moment, is it ever 'the right time'?
For most of my life I have been a creative without realising. My brain has worked in such a frantic way, but the consistency to wanting to produce media has always been there, just I never clocked onto the fact that was what I enjoyed and did well at. A short, but eye-opening, period of time with an agency in London as a Content Exec helped open my eyes to my passion, finally. Yet, after that falling through it has still taken me a good year to really hone in on my love for creation and start to really push that as what I want to do. I probably do have wings to saying having your first child and getting married within that period is a justifiable reason to not doing this sooner, and navigating the world of new husband and parenthood whilst starting up a business when you have zero experience in any of it prior to this is tricky to say the least. But a passion for it, and all of those things, makes it easier.
So, Ricreate Media is born, and with that I will continue to drop my life updates, and the story of navigating this muddled world of business owner, dad and husband to hopefully shed light on this not being just another 'videographer' but someone you can trust and someone who is as open with his clients as I request you to be with me when I work along side you to tell your story, share your event or promote your business. I have always been a strong believer that people want to work with other people. It is all about harnessing relations to help each other out, and I guess this blog is just another way of me, showing you, the true version of myself.
Let's hope this is the start of a 'right time' moment after-all.
